Linus' Black Walnut walking stick

Cliff Borgerding 2016

Linus' Black Walnut walking stick

This walking stick was made for my brother-in-law to use after he had back surgery. It was made from a limb from a tree he had planted in the early 1970's in Minnesota.

It really turned out nice. I sanded off some of the bark and in process it revealed fine lines of white material giving the impression of being inlaid. The coloring was great. I used tung oil as a first coat finish and then covered with my preferred finish of System Three Bar Top epoxy. I will try to find some better picture to highlight how this one looked.
