Pecan limbs for walking sticks and canes

Had a large pecan tree cut down in my yard so we can expand the size of our house I've went through the top and cut me some limbs to use for walking sticks and canes.

Not sure about pecan, but branches in general can be pithy in the middle.  I know walnuts are.
