In the spring, we have several days of hiking planned in some old-growth redwoods, at Henry Cowell State Park, east of Santa Cruz. If it's cloudy, shady, and approaching dusk, the cap light sounds handy.

Today I went to Dick's. They didn't have the Browning light, but they had the one shown below for $6.99 before tax. It requires two CR2032 batteries. Four of those batteries were $9.98 before tax at Lowe's.

I can't try it tonight, but perhaps tomorrow night.

It's late afternoon in Tulsa. Here's a photo with the lights out and only a little illumination from windows. The wall is only about five feet away. Another photo show an ugly septuagenarian modeling the cap light.

Nice hat light, got a crick in my neck looking at the pic of the happy guy wearing it................  :P

I discovered that the light already had the requisite two batteries installed. The spares will go into the fridge.
