My site name is Mr. Ed.  I am a retired Air Force officer and retired middle school teacher who has been carving for over 30 years, not including carving as a Boy Scout leader for over 25 years.  I began serious carving as a member of the Mid-America Woodcarvers in Omaha, Nebraska, where I tool lessons and carved with some of the best carvers in America.  I am currently a member of the Alamo Area Woodcarvers club in San Antonio, TX. and carve with the carvers at the Comal County Senior Services Center in New Braunfels, TX.  My passions are Santa carvings and cottonwood bark carvings.  I have completed several walking sticks and canes, but wish to learn more about the walking stick craft.

Welcome aboard, Mr. Ed! You came to the right place. A few of the stick makers here are darn fine carvers as well (myself not included). Looking forward to seeing some of your work.

Welcome Mr Ed. I look forward to your sharing. We have stick makers from a number of countries. I was a member of the Texas Wood Carvers Guild when I lived in Amarillo back in the  70's .

Welcome aboard Mr Ed.  Carving clubs are great places to learn and carvers are some of the friendliest folks around. I am currently a member of the Duneland Woodcarvers Club Of NW Indiana. I would really love to see some of your Santa's as I enjoy making a few myself.

Welcome! As Dana said we have several very fine carvers here (I'm not one of them either).  More are always welcome.

Welcome aboard Mr. Ed!  I'm not a wood carver, but I aspire to learn.  I thought retirement would provide the time, but volunteer work and grandchildren, as well as unanticipated obligations seem to eat up my time.  Then there are the hot summer months and the cold winter months.  Maybe I need an air conditioned back porch!  ;)
